Returning
24" x 20" acrylic painting on canvas. This piece is framed in a white floating frame (as pictured).
This scene is the inspiration behind the exhibition title. I return to Fletcher Moss on a regular basis, and never fail to find something interesting and new. I was walking along in the woodland with my family and decided to make a particular point of looking down around either side of the raised wooden path. This gorgeous narcissus near the swampy earth caught my eye. So much beauty crammed into this tiny square foot of space, and which could so easily be missed.
This exhibition is about just that. Proactively connecting and reconnecting with a particular environment, can provide infinite joy and possibility if we’re open to receiving it. Narcissus, as a perennial, by nature returns – and just like us, is never exactly the same.
